Introduction
Purpose
The Framework for First Nations Peacemaking (or “FFNP”) informs the minimum requirements for establishing place-based, culturally responsive, and sustainable First Nations Peacemaking programs in Australia.
Application
The framework applies to groups seeking endorsement as a ‘Registered First Nations Peacemaking Program’ in Australia. It also pertains to the registration of ‘First Nations Peacemakers’ who are involved in and conduct peacemaking processes, as outlined in Part 3 – Program Standards.
Role of peacemakers in a peacemaking process
A peacemaker employs the knowledge, skills, and ethical principles outlined in Part 3 – Program Standards of the FFNP to help participants independently resolve their disputes, conflicts, or differences.
